We are extremely proud of our diverse community. Whilst two-thirds of our boarders at St George’s are British, we have a wonderful mix of girls from different countries, who bring fresh ideas, cultural thinking and diverse experiences to the school.
The world is a global place of learning, full of opportunities. Our international pupils develop broader perspectives from each other and, of course, a wonderful international network of friends. They also share so much with girls, domiciled in the UK. The #SGAconnected community is vibrant and diverse and our international boarders are an integral and valued part of it.
Accessing a brilliant UK education, which enables a pathway to many wonderful post-18 opportunities, which include Russell Group university entrance; the sharing of cultural ideas; and a range opportunities to study and work abroad, there is a huge advantage to accessing a culturally diverse living and learning community for senior school. Girls enjoy the benefits from their friends and family who remain in their home nation, having friends who are based in the UK, as well as the wider St George's network. This is a winning formula, proving extremely useful for many of our girls in their working and social lives after they have left St George's.
All our international students must, by law, have a UK guardian. Guardians can be friends or relatives in the UK or parents can employ a guardianship agency. AEGIS is the accredited body for guardians in the UK and we are a Member School.
Before your daughter starts, you and your appointed guardian will be required to complete a guardianship agreement, so it is important that you discuss the full list of responsibilities with your chosen guardian before appointing them. For details about what these responsibilities are, and more general information about guardianship at St George's, please see this helpful guide.
St George’s sponsors pupils through their secondary education on a Child Student Visa.
To ensure the best possible service and advice to parents, St George's immigration work is outsourced to Sable who are a specialist immigration law firm. They will manage the visa application process on behalf of St George's and your daughter, and any subsequent renewals as she progresses through the school. Sable will complete all the forms ensuring full compliance with UKVI regulations, ensuring the chance of a successful application is maximised. The school will require you to use the services of Sable in any visa application and will not accept any third party arrangement.
There will be a one off administration charge for this service of £795 which you should pay on acceptance of your daughter’s place, together with the acceptance deposit.
