Loveday Fund

Creating a Bright Future for Confident, Capable, and Connected Young Women

The Loveday Fund offers you an opportunity to play an instrumental part in shaping new horizons for our school community, and to influence our pupils’ successes.

We invite you to join us in creating a lasting impact, through your donations, on the lives of our pupils and the future of St George's, Ascot.

A Legacy of Philanthropy

Named after our founder, Miss Anne Loveday, the fund proudly continues her legacy, building upon a century-long commitment to nurture our girls into becoming confident, capable, and connected young women.

Throughout the decades, we have been fortunate to receive incredible philanthropic support from individuals like you who have dedicated their time, expertise, and resources to St George's.

You can enable our girls to live, develop and thrive in a high-quality school environment that meets their needs, encourages their talents, passions and skills, and offers transformative educational opportunities.

Your valued involvement will enable us to develop a greater number of pupils to mature into exceptional people who will excel in their chosen fields, based on the strong foundations created at St George’s.

The Loveday Fund focuses on three key areas of transformational development.

Your Donation's Positive Impact

Bursaries
Pupil Enrichment
Developing our Estate

Increasing access to transformative education

You can ensure that girls who show inspiring talent, particular skills and a commitment to learning have access to St George's Ascot's excellent educational programme.

Bursary provision can make an important difference to a pupil’s future direction, and can literally be life-changing in its impact. With your help, we can offer more full bursaries to open up the educational horizons for more girls.

St George’s is also proudly partnering with the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation. This gives a chance to promising girls, for whom our school is a good fit, the chance to explore and reach their potential with us. This programme connects us with pupils who otherwise might not access our school.

A wider mix of personal experiences, knowledge and aspirations among our girls brings great benefits to the individual and to our school community.

Central to the St George’s ethos is enhancing educational experience through enrichment activities.

You can empower pupils to broaden their horizons, interests and understanding through a diverse range of co-curricular activities. Participation in arts, music, and sports can all feed a life-long love of those pursuits which promote good physical health, positive mental wellbeing, and creative expression.

Through volunteering and helping others - whether individuals, charities or organisations - girls develop their understanding of other people’s challenges, and how they can personally make a difference through their compassion, generosity and time. These character-building activities promote social skills, community engagement and a philanthropic approach.

Your investment in our enrichment programme will create a greater range of options for pupils to explore. It will help them to thoroughly prepare for their life ahead, and to be able to give and receive the most benefit in any situation.

Pupil enrichment propels exceptional young women to make a meaningful impact throughout their school journey and beyond, embodying St George's aim for each pupil to be confident, capable and connected.

Well-planned investments in our buildings, our sustainable approach, equipment and green spaces will provide the best possible environment for our pupils in which to live, study and flourish. You can ensure the school estate fully meets pupils’ needs, now and in the future.

St George’s has a mix of buildings and facilities, which we want to preserve and enhance to match the expectations of our pupils and their parents. You can help us to protect, manage and revitalise these facilities to provide consistently excellent surroundings which augment pupils’ experiences.

As we look forward, there will be fresh building projects, vital refurbishments and essential maintenance.  To have a solid, reliable core to our estate enables us to be confident and aspirational in scoping and delivering advanced spaces that promote positive work, play and relaxation.

We are proud custodians of our wonderfully green site, which is so important for our pupils’ wellbeing. By developing our planting and tree management we are creating a beautiful place that offers health benefits to our school community, natural habitats for flora and fauna, and protects the historical school site.

Our Sustainability Approach

Recognising your support

Founding Partner
Loveday Partner
Keystone Partner
Dragon Partner

From proudly launching the Loveday Fund at our 2024 Prize Giving celebration, we will award the special distinction of being named a Founding Partner to the first 25 donors who commit to supporting our far-reaching ambitions and aspirations for St George's.

The donation you give or pledge can be at any level; we wish to recognise your early and prompt commitment to our long-term vision.

Thank you for supporting these transformative aims for our girls and our school, now and into the future.

As a donor to the Loveday Fund at any level, we welcome you as part of our Loveday Partnership.

You are a valued member of our giving community, and your contribution is much appreciated. It is by connecting together in this way that we will create a consistent level of funding to meet our ambitions.

We will keep you updated about the impact of the Loveday Fund on the school through our social media, newsletters, website and events including our annual Prize Giving for parents and Alumnae. We will share with you our forthcoming Impact Report 2023-24 in electronic format, and send you a development-focused update three times per year.

If your giving exceeds £3,000 per year, we have additional ways to recognise your support.

Keystone Partners opt to give an annual contribution of at least £3,000 (£250 per month), either as a lump sum or as cumulative donations.

This could open up opportunities to many girls - including offering up to 110% bursary support - that make becoming a Georgian a reality.

We will engage with you through our regular communication channels, and send you a development-focused update three times per year. There will be opportunities to attend school events and special celebrations, to experience the impact of your donations in the successes of our pupils. We will thank you for your support in our Impact Report and in our annual magazine 'The Dragon', sending you a printed copy of both items.

As a Dragon Partner, you will commit to donate at least £30,000 or more to the Loveday Fund.

This could be as a lump sum or as cumulative donations spread across five years (an average of £6,000 per year or £250 per month).

As an example of the impact of your generosity, this could fund two full bursaries for two boarding pupils to fulfil their potential for an academic year.

We are scoping a programme of opportunities for Dragon Partners to engage with the school, including our major events and some dedicated diary dates that relate to your specific area of interest. We want to share progress with you, and to ensure that you see how your wonderful donation is being used as effectively as possible.

We will engage with you through our regular communication channels, and send you a development-focused update three times per year. We will thank you for your support in our Impact Report and in our annual magazine 'The Dragon', sending you a printed copy of both items.

Ways to Donate
Make a Regular Donation

The Loveday Fund offers you an opportunity to commit to giving much-appreciated and consistent support through your regular monthly donation.

By choosing to give a monthly gift, you are helping St George’s to plan how we will invest in different projects and support for our pupils against a clear view of expected future income.

One-off Gifts

Any one-off donation will be warmly received, and can be instrumental in supporting us to fulfil a key project at a pivotal moment.

There is no limit to the number of one-off donations you can make in a year; some donors find this approach allows them to be more flexible in their support.

Pledge Your Future Support

A pledge is a promise of support - whether in the near future or longer-term. If you would like to make a pledge to the Loveday Fund that is convenient for your own financial planning, we would be delighted to work with you to identify the best way to achieve this.

Legacies and Gifts in Wills

We welcome legacies and Gifts in Wills to both the Loveday Fund, and to St George’s overall.

We recognise that you will want to ensure your loved ones are provided for in the first instance, but there are a variety of ways in which you can help to secure the future of the school in your legacy planning.

You can find out more in our Legacy Brochure or by speaking to our Head of Philanthropy.

Gift Aid - Make Your Donation Even More Effective

However you choose to donate, if you are a UK taxpayer you can increase the value of your gift by allowing St George’s to claim Gift Aid at 25p per £1 donated, at no additional cost to you.

For example, this means a donation of £100 is worth £125 to the school; £1,000 becomes £1,250 that will benefit our girls.

If you are eligible, please consider selecting this option when you make your donation, as it will have a significant impact on how the Loveday Fund can transform the school. Thank you.
