The GAIN (Girls are Investors) Investment Analysis competition was launched two years ago as a UK girls' school initiative aimed at encouraging greater levels of female participation in the investment analysis sector. The competition required our entrants to analyse the financial performance of their allocated companies (Marks and Spencer and Ocado) and then present a report and presentation that recommends whether shares in these companies should be held, sold or bought. St George's entered two Lower Sixth teams into this competition, which runs during the Spring Term. Team 1 - 'Avocado' which comprised Linh, Alexandra, Bonnie and Shakira were placed in the top 10 in the country; an amazing achievement given the number of teams who participate nationally! Congratulations go to both of our GAIN teams.
