Mock General Election

Sixth Form Activities

In the lead up to the General Election on Thursday 7 May, Lower Sixth Form Politics students represented the five main political parties and took part in a mock debate and election in Chapel over three days.

The following students represented the following political parties:

  • Conservative Party – Lottie Hughes
  • The Labour Party – Rebecca Oratokhai
  • The Liberal Democrats – Carima Mahmood
  • UKIP – Emma Sedgwick
  • The Green Party – Stephanie Okojie

The candidates explained why fellow pupils and staff should vote for their party in a hustings session, before debating topical issues and answering challenging questions posed from both pupils and staff.

Pupils and staff voted in a mock email election for their chosen party on Friday 1 May. Congratulations to Lottie Hughes for the Conservative Party for winning the election.

Thank you to Mr Sharkey and Mr Verma for organising the mock election.
