Head of Learning Support

The Learning Support Department seeks to provide the best possible care for neurodiverse pupils and those who are suffering temporary setbacks. It aims to ensure that all pupils are able to fully participate in the broad, balanced and full curriculum on offer at St George’s, with high levels of expectation and participation. To that end we are seeking a Head of Learning Support to join our welcoming School for September 2024.

The successful candidate will hold the NASENCO qualification or have equivalent experience and should be an advocate for the needs of neurodiverse pupils.

St George’s Ascot operates its own generous salary scheme and all teaching staff will be auto enrolled in the APTIS pension scheme unless they opt out.

Admissions Assistant

Required to start as soon as possible, a part-time Admissions Assistant who will be part of a team of three staff, including the Director of Admissions, who has responsibility for managing the team.

This will be a varied and challenging post for a candidate with previous administration experience who wishes to be involved in a professional and busy school community. 

The role requires excellent organisational and time management skills, the ability to work as part of a team, work under pressure and the ability to multitask.  

The successful candidate will be required to work an average of 25-32 hours per week, usually during the School working day (8.30 - 17.00). The exact hours and days worked are negotiable. This is a role that requires working throughout the year i.e.. it is not a term time only position. There will be a requirement to work some evenings or weekends to support School and Admission related events for which time off will be given in lieu. 

The salary for this role will be between £16,000 - 20,500 per annum depending on the hours agreed. The successful candidate will be auto-enrolled into the The Pensions Trust pension scheme if eligible.

Part-time Minibus Driver (Mornings only, term-time only)

Required to start as soon as possible, a reliable and flexible Part-time Minibus Driver to join our friendly team of Drivers, working mornings only during the School's published term times. 

This is a term time only position and the normal hours of work are:

5.30am to 8.15am (approximately) - Monday to Friday, Term-time only

Other duties may include ad hoc trips for School (possibly all day), service, maintenance and valeting for the fleet.

The required competencies to meet insurance and licence requirements are:

  • Aged 21 or over to comply with insurance requirements;
  • 'Clean' full driving licence;
  • Minimum of two years driving experience;
  • D1 qualified (Driving Licences awarded on or after 1 January 1997, will need D1 entitlement).

The illustrative pay rate is equivalent to £15.68 per hour, which includes 5.6 weeks of holiday pay. (Holiday pay is calculated at an average of weeks worked and is paid in August). The actual hourly rate is £13.99 per hour. The successful candidate will be auto-enrolled into the School’s Pension scheme if eligible.

General Domestic Assistant (Weekends only, Term-time only)

We require a General Domestic Assistant to start as soon as possible, to work each weekend that the Boarders are in School (i.e. Term-time only).

The normal hours of work are:

Saturday 7.00am to 8.00pm and Sunday 10.00am to 8.00pm (each weekend that the Boarders are in School - approximately 27 weekends per academic year) 

There will be a requirement to to work during the Summer Let period which occurs during July and early August.

The hourly rate for this role is £11.44 and the post attracts 5.6 weeks of holiday pay, which is calculated at an average of weeks worked. The successful candidate will be auto-enrolled into the School’s Pension scheme if eligible.
